    1. Kept - Enjoyed it. Great read. Greta is a strong heroine and the interaction with Dayne was funny and sexy. I liked how Dayne was trying to not lose his rep as a "bad boy" sorcerer.Claimed - Charlee was too stupid to live and got on my nerves. I liked her in Kept and at the beginning of Claimed but as the book progressed, I became more and more frustrated with her character. I would have bought the HEA for her and Anthony more if she wasn't such a psychotic wench during most of the story. Honest [...]

    2. 3 novellas in 1.Kept was the first one. Greta is a shifter, Dayne was a wizard. She needs help, he can give it.This was pnr and I liked it, omg. But I do think it was because there was no instalove, no alpha ahole. Just a woman on the run, and yes she was in heat so yes they got it on. But that was not love, that was lust. It worked. I enjoyed the story.Claimed was at it seems now the weak one of the bunch. And it was all cos it was the most pnr one. Anthony was a total alpha-hole. I mean seriou [...]

    3. 3 good stories! Vamps, werewolves, cat shifters, sorcerers and humansPart One: KEPTWow! What a great little story. I absolutely loved Dayne and Greta. Well, except for the part where she took the raw steak out of the fridge and ate it. I thought that was pretty gross. But mostly, I really liked the story. It was all about her running to Dayne, a sorcerer, to protect her from getting sacrificed. And, even though Jaden wasn’t in it too much I liked her, too. And Simon got exactly what he deserve [...]

    4. This book is a compilation of three PNR novellas all by Zoe Winters. The characters do intersect and there is overlap, as you expect in a PNR series. Whether you listen or read this story, you get three romances for the price of one. Kept is the first novella. It consists of Greta who is a cat therian (another word for shifter), and Dayne, a sorcerer with a very bad reputation. Greta is sentenced to be a sacrifice. Her mother, who is refusing to save her, but helps her to escape and sends her to [...]

    5. I enjoyed this book. It gave me three good novellas in one book: Kept, Claimed, and Mated. Kept starts her series and each builds upon the other. All the characters know one another."Kept" introduces the world. The heroine is a cat therian named Greta. Therians are shapeshifters. The hero is a wizard named Dayne. He's gotten a bad rep, undeserved but much cultivated. Greta is wanted for her blood because she was born in animal form. Dayne is the only being powerful enough to save her. This book [...]

    6. Kept, Claimed and MatedGreta, Charlee and JaneRidiculous, Clueless and Pathetic could have been the titles for these tales. This trilogy made a complete mockery of being a woman in the preternatural world. The more I read the worst it was. Jane's story being the absolute worse with her being passed around from one faction to the next. The author wants us to believe any of this dribble could lead to "happily ever after" with any of the monsters in this book?! Not happening. The female leads are w [...]

    7. I was going to review each novella individually but I lost some memos after a factory reset so it'll just be general impressions. This author has a writing style that I greatly enjoy which makes the fact that 2/3 of the heroes were creepy, controlling if not full on abusive, and rapey all the more disappointing. The first two were so unenjoyable that I'm frankly amazed I made it to the last. above and beyond the gross heroes there were other issues. I find the idea of a were cat (yes a domestic [...]

    8. Blood Lust is the first book in the Preternaturals series by Zoe Winters. This book actually consists of 3 paranormal romance novellas that are also available as ebooks. Zoe sent me all 3 novella ebooks for review (& I also now own the paperback) and I love the world that she has created - it is packed full of paranormal species but everything fits together really well and you can see how much thought has gone into it. Just check out the website that she created for a store featured in the s [...]

    9. Vampires and werewolves, the usual stuff – and werecats. Wait, what? Nowadays it’s hard to find someone bringing something original and interesting into the world of paranormal books. Seems like most writers are mesmerized by the kind-at-heart vampires and forgets what else could be out there.Blood Lust contains three novellas, best read in order, since there’s continuality with the characters and some things refer to the happenings in the previous novellas in the book. The first one, Kept, [...]

    10. I won a copy of Blood Lust via Cynthia Eden’s blog. All I saw was something about shifters and I was sold! I didn’t realize at first that the three novellas were linked; I was anticipating three, non-connected stories. Wrong! The three lead into each other, starting with Greta’s tale.Kept was interesting in the manner of the shifters, therians, that populate the world. I was imagining something big, bad and bad ass. Greta was not that. And I totally dig having my expectations put on their [...]

    11. Previously Published on my blog: Welcome to Larissa's Bookish LifeBlood Lust is a compilation of three Paranormal novellas, all part of Zoe Winters’ The Preternaturals Series. Each one tells the story of a couple and their journey into their Happily Ever After. All the stories are set in the same world and some characters cross over between them at times.I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. I tend to enjoy a shorter story now and then but I do prefer full length nov [...]

    12. I picked this book up for free via a daily deal through Book Bub, with my interest skewed towards reading it in order to pick up writing techniques and narrative structure ideas. This book is made up of three short stories, however unlike one of the books I read recently where the characters were linked together only by the paranormal organization they worked for, in Blood Lust, the characters overlap because they all live in the same community. The first story introduces readers to a werecat an [...]

    13. Actual rating is 3.5 out of 5 stars.I’ll freely admit that I love me some supernatural stories. I like other genres, but the supernatural has and will always hold a special place with me. I stumbled across the Preternaturals series a few years ago and then didn’t read it right away.Blood Lust was interesting right off the bat because it’s really 3 novellas showing very different perspectives of the same overall world. It’s actually in a straight timeline of events too, which was intrigui [...]

    14. This introduction into the preternatural world of Cary Town is an anthology of three novellas. KEPT tells the story of Greta and Dayne. She is werecat and he is an evil sorcerer. He is also her only hope of hiding from her own people who are planning to sacrifice her. She is not welcome In his house after her mother nearly got him killed years ago. This trap Jayden lead him into, lead to a near annihilation of her people and his reputation as an evil and powerful sorcerer. Together, they have to [...]

    15. I originally read The Preternaturals series a few years back but decided with the new release I need to take a trip down memory lane. By the time I finished chapter one of Kept I knew I made the right decision. I forgot how much I enjoyed it! KeptLess human and more cat-like is what I like seeing in a cat therian and Ms. Winter has a great job done with Greta. Dayne originally reminds me of the Carl from UP! Old guy, stay away! But in reality he's just grumpy and in need of a petrte. And BTWhe m [...]

    16. This is Preternaturals #1 - all of the Bloodlust books too. I really liked these stories! I got this book for free from amazon. This is a collection of stories (Kept, Claimed and Mated) with characters that are related (not in a familial way) to each other.Greta is a werecat. She found out that she was going to be sacrificed by her tribe. So she goes to Dayne Wickham for help. He's a sorcerer. Hopefully, he could keep her safe until after the full moon. She goes into heat because she had to leave [...]

    17. This review is also on my book blog, Clover Hill Book Reviews. The cover on this is seductive, giving you a sample of what to expect. What the cover can't tell you is the myriad of characters it contains. Blood Lust is three novellas combined, comprising of Kept, Claimed and Mated. All three novellas flow together really well and the set of stories entwine with each other. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters and all their guises. There's a healthy mix - werecat (cat therian), were, vamp, s [...]

    18. 3 great Novellas Story #1 - KeptWerecat, Greta, finds out her stepfather is going to sacrifice her on the full moon of her 28th year. Her “mother” send her to see sorcerer Dayne for help (despite that her mom burned Dayne in the badly past). Hermit by choice, Dayne thinks Greta’s arrival is a plot from his former lover. Can they trust each other enough for Dayne to protect Greta until after the full moon?Story #2 – ClaimedGreta’s friend and co-worker, Charlee, has been teasing and flir [...]

    19. Zoe Winters will keep many a reader thoroughly entertained with this compilation of previously released novellas! Complete with Vampires, Werewolves, Sorcerers and Shifters, Blood Lust will lead readers on 3 adventures all individually told yet each carried through to the next in the manner of a series.Having had the pleasure of following Zoe’s blog posts, it’s this reader’s opinion that she has a cheeky attitude and quite intelligent mind which most definitely carries through to her wonde [...]

    20. Well, it took me awhile to read this book, but it was well worth the wait! Forgive me, Zoe, I had a bunch of personal stuff going on, so I neglected finishing for a few days. While I'd read about half of Kept about a year ago, the first novella in The Preternaturals Book One, I enjoyed actually being able to read all three novellas at once. (Kept, Claimed & Mated) I even bought this book in paperback, mostly due to my obsession with reading actual paper books, but also because I adore the co [...]

    21. Kept I stayed up well into the night to finish this read. If it weren’t for the breaks I had to take between laughing fits, I probably would have finished sooner.Read the complete review on my website:reenajacobs/blog/2010/09/nClaimedAnyone out there ever play Dungeons & Dragons? Don’t be shy. I know some of you all were as nerdy as me growing up. I bet some of you still play the game. :) What does that have to do with Claimed? Anthony. I’d definitely classify him as lawful evil. Add t [...]

    22. Blood Lust is a collection of three paranormal romance novellas, with a wide range of character types and setups. It's an excellent introduction to the world and author. I enjoyed this book immensely, and will be watching for more stories set in this world. Winters finds room for a lot of world-building between the lines, and it's this depth that has turned me so quickly into a fan. As in a lot of series, supporting characters are likely to end up in the spotlight soon, but the links are loose e [...]

    23. Pretty good. 4 starsI didn't really think I was going to like this book because I like long stories and don't usually read short ones, so when I read this was really three stories but they were all related I figured I'd give it a chance because it had a lot of good reviews and I'm glad I did. The stories all stay very interesting and it's pretty fast paced and it well written with no typos or the wrong words used like in a lot of the books on vampires I have read that have little to no editing. [...]

    24. While the writing was passable (though the editing could use a little attention) what the author considers a satisfying romance differs significantly from mine. In fact, I'm fairly sure they're diametric opposites. As a result, I hated the female leads in each of these stories and was wholly disgusted by the situations the author placed them in to be rescued by the heroes. They're all victims who can't seem to control their own impulses. These are the sort of 'romances' I think do nothing more t [...]

    25. I don't normally read paranormal romance but this one did intrigue me. Blood Lust is a collection of three novellas: Kept, Claimed and Mated. Each can stand alone on it's own so it's not necessary to read the others but I like to read a series in order ;-p What I loved about this collection is that as each book ended, a character from the last book was carried over and featured as the main character in the next book. For the Kindle edition, the locations came in at just over 4300 and can easily [...]

    26. I found Blood Lust's three novellas’ plot intriguing at the begging because they have a slightly different set of characters in a world of paranormal book where you always find the same types of good guys and bad guys, especially the first story where the main characters are a warlock who loves e-shopping for blood and a ''cat-shifter'' whose species was for centuries the ‘‘familiars’’ of witches and warlocks. The other novellas also have interesting characters but, all this is just ir [...]

    27. well, i sucked this one down in a day and a half. i loved the writing. and for once i liked all three stories pretty equally. the last one inching out the rest just but a little bit. Greta, Charlee, and Jane are all great MFC's and their men are just as delicious.i loved how they all twined together into the three stories, but Ms. Winters didn't play favorites by letting anyone secondary chars take over. and seeing how the next book perceives the previous is a treat as well. and truly shows how [...]
