    1. Creek StewartCreek Stewart of "Fat Guys in the Woods" fame released his first novel, Rugosa: A Survival Story from Omaha to London, on February 14. I just finished it and I was very impressed. Omaha is a boy scout and since the loss of his father the entire world has been turned upside down. Now he finds that one of the people nearest to him in life, London, is in trouble and he has to risk everything to save her. Will be able to make it to her in time? Will she even be alive when he gets there? [...]

    2. This was actually a fairly entertaining book. I rather liked the writing style which was fluid and clearly a decent editor was used. There were a number of tidbits of survivalist tips but they were well woven into the story and did not fall into the trap so many books of this genre of making it seem like a commercial. It did a very good job in describing the confusing feelings and allegiances of a young man. I thought that the facile capitulation of the United States was a little unrealistic and [...]

    3. Very intriguing read. I am a fan of the dystopian genre. I wasn't really sure what to expect with this story coming from a survivalist. I was pleasantly surprised! The beginning moved a little slow for me but was needed to get the world building right. Basically Omaha has been taking care of his mother and younger sister after the collapse. They are very low key and try and stay off of the radar from the WUG. Things turn for the worst and Omaha needs to go to the city to save London. This is whe [...]

    4. Creek Stewart's extensive Boy Scout and survival training comes out in this fast-paced adventure. The characters are believable for a young-adult romance, sounding and acting like teens. The wilderness survival tips are half the fun, but the romance and what's happening in this post-globalization dystopian America will keep you guessing.

    5. Liked this a lot, great survival info scattered throughout, likable and believable characters. The story, while a quite possible depressing vision of a future US, was engrossing and I appreciated the inner strength of the main character. I am hoping there will be a sequel!

    6. Good book in the survival fiction genre. I've read some of Mr. Stewart's articles in other places and he know what he's talking about. A good solid read. I'd like to see what's next in the story.

    7. Thought I had entered this review when I finished it a while back. I liked this story overall. While the facile collapse of the US seemed a bit unrealistic, I liked the struggles that the main character had with trying to adapt. The survival tips were good and part of the story instead of seeming like a commercial as is the case with a lot of books in this genre. Seems to set up well for another book in the series.

    9. Great job. Good story. Can't wait for the second book.I really hope that you will continue the story, maybe a series. I really appreciate the clean language in this book. No unnecessary cuss words like many authors use in these type books. Thanks for keeping it clean with an honorable hero. Kept me flipping pages the whole way. I still miss Fat Guys in the Woods but I am really glad you wrote this story. Keep them coming.
