    1. The prologue was predictable I figured out who the Trickster was the moment he opened his mouth(my naturally suspicious mind had kicked into overdrive, which was the reason) but I kept reading because it mentioned Guinevere, Sir Lancelot, King Arthur, Excalibur, and so on (the legends of King Arthur *fangirl over here*) and toward the end revealing who he really was confirmed I was right. Part of me couldn't feel sorry for Thooranu and the other human part of me allowed myself to give him a modi [...]

    2. One of the reasons I enjoyed this book, is that there are several characters within it that I care about. Michelle cleverly links together the lives of a few characters that are motivated by different reasons. Their lives become entangled in a beautiful web that we get to watch as they become more ensnared with each other for better or worse. The brotherly and sisterly bond between Clover and Archie is moving to witness. As a young girl, Clover is insightful, smart and lovable. Archie is frantica [...]

    3. An excellent steampunk fantasy novel set in the present world, the first of the Legacy series has an extremely in-depth character cast, in which you actually care what happens to the characters. This is hard to do in fantasy these days, but the author rises up to the challenge remarkably. My favorite character in this by far is Clover, a young girl who is light-years beyond her age. The thief Pierce is also one of the best designed of his genre I have read in a long time. A thief with morals is [...]

    4. What a fascinating and imaginative book. This was just such a pleasant surprise. The synopsis was vague enough that I went into this without really knowing what to expect, but a couple of pages into the prologue I knew it was going to be good. If I'm being perfectly honest, to go into too much detail about the plot would 1) sound incredibly convoluted and 2) ruin a lot of the charm of this book. One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the timing that information was revealed. You re [...]

    5. Genre - Fantasy/SteampunkPages - 364Just finished reading “Legacy (The Legacy #1)” by Michelle Lowe. I would like to thank Michelle for gifting me an e-copy of this wonderful romp. While this book is described as Fantasy/Steampunk, it has many different elements from other genres like paranormal, adventure, and historical fiction to name a few. A Victorian Era story that takes place mostly in the South of England with some unforgettable characters. There are some unlikely alliances which add [...]

    6. I wasn't sure about this book in the beginning but I real grew on me. There is a lot of mythos mashed together to form an endearing story.

    7. It took me a little while to get going with this book as the opening section felt a bit like it was trying too hard and actually while clearly setting up for something (and I'm assuming that it takes place later on in the series), it didn't seem to have much relevance to the section of the Legacy series that happens directly in this book. Once I got past the opening and we started to meet the main characters though, I found myself carried along with the story and by the end I was rooting for Arc [...]

    8. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. (Sorry it took me so long.) First, let me start by saying that I liked this book. I didn't love it, but I liked it. I liked the characters, from Pierce to Archie to Clover to Indigo. Although I do have some issues with them, as you'll see later, I did find them enjoyable to read about. I liked the settings. I'm a sucker for historical settings. I just love them. I liked the mixture of historical fiction and fantasy elements. [...]

    9. Fine writers are first and foremost fine storytellers. You know you've found that storyteller when the piece you are reading captivates your imagination and allows you to sink down into the story and keep reading until (at least in my case) the words swim around on the page (or screen) and your eyes beg for sleep even though your mind wants more.Michelle Lowe is off to a fine start with book one of her "Legacy" series. The cast of characters is diverse, and they interact on several levels which [...]

    10. Michelle Lowe in her novel Legacy: Volume 1 offers a classic approach to the fantasy genre. Legacy tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Pierce (a notorious outlaw), Archie (the younger son of the villainous Lord Tarquin), and Clover (the young sister of Archie). Archie, with the help of Clover, and in following his father’s order captures Pierce. The latter knows about the whereabouts of Indigo Peachtree, a genius toy maker who has discovered a dark secret from ancient times. The [...]

    11. Full disclosure:: I received a reviewer's copy of this book in advance. I didn't get any compensation. This is a seriously fantastic novel. I grew up in the South of England where this novel is (mostly) set, and it was a real nostalgia trip for me, but the nostalgia is set amidst some fast-paced action. It was actually very hard to tell where the plot would be moving, and that's what I liked about it. So many things could have been stereotypical but were not.The characters were colourful and very [...]

    12. I really enjoyed this book. There were some great elements of magic and fantasy in it. I feel like this for me was a fantasy adventure tale. I enjoyed the characters in this book. I think the author is a great storyteller. I will be excited to read book 2. I think there was a great strong female character who was just a kid. I think this series is going to be a great one. * I received this book from the author ---this is my honest review*

    13. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.Ms. Lowe is clearly a creative thinker, but her vision, for this book at least; is not clear. It is a jumble of imagery and verbal gymnastics paired up along side a cast of characters which is unbelievable at best. (Even for a steampunk novel.)

    14. I love this book. I found it highly intriguing and I could not stop turning the page. I loved the characters and I found myself drawn to them for a wide variety of reasons. I am looking forward to reading more in the Legacy series.

    15. This was a give away. A colorful cast of characters occupies this novel. The way they are portrayed I hated a character in one chapter and felt sorry for them in the next. Lowe seems to take her inspiration from many fantasy and epic works. The plot covers many locations and time periods. Some story lines are not fully developed in this work but may be later in the series. This was my first foray into the steam punk sub-genre. Reads who are more familiar with this kind of literature may get mor [...]

    16. Veteran indie author Michelle Lowe gave me a free eBook copy of her seventh book Legacy -- the first in a seven-part Steampunk series -- in exchange for an honest review. Not wanting to let the author down (and I must apologise to Michelle for taking so long to get around to reading it as well; I generally don't do well reading books off of computer screens), I was really delighted when Legacy turned out to be a well-written, fast-paced adventure that takes place across both sides of the English [...]
