    1. I liked a lot of aspects of this book. Biblical fiction really is one of my most favourite genres, and this one was accurate, and enjoyable. The account of Moses and the Exodus out of Egypt has been coming to my attention quite frequently, and so it was great to read another “retelling” of it. I appreciated the variety of characters and their point’s of view through out this book. They were good characters, for the most part, there of course being the ‘bad’ characters, like Pharaoh who [...]

    2. Reading, "Until My Name is Known" I was really impressed by the level of commitment Sonya has shown the Book of Exodus and although this is a fictional re-telling of what could have happen, the author shows a love and desire to bring to this book, research and a sense of authenticity to bring the readers into this re-telling of Moses, not from when he started out as a baby, but as an adult and facing a task that he felt at the time,he wasn't the right person.Even at the end, there was an inclusi [...]

    3. Freedom in ObedienceI really enjoyed reading your story of the beginning of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. I found the different characters showed how difficult life was during those times. It brought these events to be more personal.

    4. ExcellentThis book is excellent. I have been reading knowing the Bible story, still greatly appreciated this telling of the story .

    5. Oh my! This is truly a Good Read! I could not put it down! Knowing the story of Moses was fictionized to a degree, did not alter the true story! I want more please! :)

    6. Deb’s Dozen: Moses called by God, Zipporah left behind, but God’s Will Be Done.Until My Name is Known by Sonya Contreras retells the familiar story of Moses from the time he saw God in the burning bush until he led the Israelites across the sea bed to safety—but with a twist.Contreras personalizes Moses in a way I’ve not seen before. By starting at the burning bush, we see a Moses who has lived contentedly in the desert for forty years. He and his wife, Zipporah, and their sons, Gershom, [...]

    7. Some of my favorite fiction novels since I've been a book reviewer are those that take a well known story from the Bible and expand on it without losing the initial meaning. We all know that there is more to the story than what we read and once again, another talented author has managed to do just that. Sonya Contreras has launched a series called Tell of My Kingdom's Glory and in the debut novel, Until My Name is Known, we are transported back to the time of Moses. Not the Moses who was put in [...]

    8. Title: Until My Name is Known (Tell of My Kingdom’s Glory #1)Author: Sonya ContrerasPages: 267Year: 2015Publisher: Bull Head PressMy rating is 5!Jesus loved to tell stories to people and people loved to listen to them until some people turned away because what He offered they didn’t accept. Now, centuries earlier, God did an amazing work when He took the Jewish people from captivity to a land they were to conquer and thrive in. If you have ever read about the Exodus or seen the many versions [...]

    9. It seems that the Exodus tale has been popular fiction fodder this year, as this is the third I’ve read involving Moses. Until My Name is Known comes from a new to me author and starts with Moses recounting his meeting with God at the burning bush. The narrative doesn’t stay with Moses, however, and we soon get perspectives from his wife Zipporah, his brother Aaron, and various Hebrews and Egyptians as they experience the plagues God sends to the land. It’s possible there were too many voi [...]

The opinions expressed here are my own.Book Description: The Exodus of the Jews from Egypt is a love story between God and His people. God woos His people to Himself as He prepares them to leave. 13. Reviewed at The Power of Words: bit/1L0JTGTUntil My Name Is Known is a work of biblical fiction, spanning the time from the call of Moses at the burning bush to when the Israelites stand on the other side of the Red Sea. Sonya is passionate about retelling the Exodus story in a fresh way, through a variety of Egyptian and Hebrew characters, and showing God's faithfulness throughout. While it didn't quite pull me in as a work of fiction, there were parts that I did enjoy.Sonya gives much attentio [...]

    14. Until My Name Is Known begins just after the Lord speaks to Moses in the burning bush and goes through the crossing of the Red Sea. Rather than solely focusing on Moses, Until My Name Is Known also follows several Egyptians and Israelites. I've pretty much always thought of the Exodus through Moses's perspective, so it was nice to get a picture of what other Israelites and the Egyptians may have been thinking. While there are many, many characters in Until My Name Is Known, I never once became c [...]

    15. I enjoyed reading books that add to my historical knowledge of a subject, and this book did just that! It was very clear that Sonya Contreras has committed tremendous time and energy into the research for her latest book Until My Name is Known. She starts with Moses meeting God at the burning bush and finished when the Israelites cross the Jordan River. The details that Sonya shares with the readers clearly take us deeper into this story which really brings it to life.Reading through the story o [...]

    16. TIME: 2450 B.CACE:Old Kingdom of EgyptThis is a love story between God and His people. God brings the people to him as he gets them ready to leave and escape slavery. But, before they leave, possession of His people is fought between God and Pharaoh. The world's eyes are on God as he frees His people from the bonds of Egypt. He touches many lives.Pharaoh is challenged when Israel's God arrives. He has great power. The people have to change, but some won't and they pay the price. Others do change [...]

    17. On the title page of the copy I received, the author signed the book and wrote, “Read it to see Him!” Reading this incredible story, I did see the way God has worked in history. And I saw his awesome power and his amazing love for his people.Sonya Contreras has woven together many unique angles of the ancient story, creating a complex, but not confusing, book that many people will enjoy. The characters are well-developed and unique, and the dialogue is natural. The descriptions are excellent, [...]

    18. This review is also posted on Book by Book.Sonya Contreras crafts an interesting retelling of the biblical account of the Israelites’ exodus from captivity in Egypt in her novel, Until My Name Is Known. Though the overall story will surely be familiar to readers of the Bible, Contreras brings it to life with perspectives from a variety of characters, as well as interesting attention to historical detail and an emphasis on God’s love and pursuit of His people. 19. I received this book, only 3 days ago and My review was to be posted by yesterday. However this book, is a very hard read. It has way to many characters, and for me, was just all over the place. While I loved the premise of the story (Experience God through Israel’s Exodus from Egypt’s power through those who were there.) 20. In Until My Name Is Known the Almighty sets out to reveal Himself to mankind. He takes both the Egyptians and the Hebrews from “Who is this God, that I should obey?” to “Surely this is the finger of God!” The great I Am clearly unveils His character, but wisely allows each one to choose whether or not they will honor His supremacy. Reading this account helped me step out of modern America into Egypt, 2450 B.C. and brought the Biblical Exodus to life. I think you, like me, will be uniquel [...]

    21. I am a huge biblical fiction fan, so when I was asked to review this book I said yes without hesitation. This is a different take on Moses, Sonya doesn't start at the beginning of his life where he is found floating in the basket of the Nile river, she begins her story after he's killed the Egyptian and has run from Egypt. I've studied Exodus quite a bit as a Bible quizzer as a child and teen, and then I coached quizzing of Exodus as an adult. I found the book interesting like a companion to the [...]

    22. The story of the Exodus is told from a variety of view points in this novel. In doing so Sonya Contreras allows the reader to see and understand different view points. While we tend to think of just Moses and Pharaoh when we read this story, it involved all of the Hebrew, Egyptians, and other nations as they heard about the things going on. I did feel that perhaps there were too many view points and it created a few too many characters.Readers will enjoy Sonya Contreras research and attention to [...]

    23. My thoughts:I really enjoy reading books about the Old Testament and the characters within it. A different perspective on something can make us view things and actions in a whole new light and increase our understanding. The story of Moses contains so much and so does the book of Exodus. I think that this piece of historical biblical fiction has really caused me to rethink and relook at those stories. I really enjoyed it! Definitely a series I’ll be following!I received a copy of this book fro [...]

    24. This book is the story of Moses and how God worked through him to set his people free. This is a story taken from what some believe could have happened a certain way. The author Sonya Conteras has written it as what could have really taken place from someone who was there to see it. The account is written so that easy to read and understand the people that were involved at the time. The author believes that if you read this you will understand. I give this book a 4/5. I was given this book for a [...]
