    1. 3.5 starsScience and Fiction is quirky and charming, with two endearing MCs: Craig, a retired military medic who lives on Earth, and Nithael, who is human but from another dimension. Craig finds Nithael naked and buried beneath a pile of autumn leaves. He worries for Nithael's physical (and mental) health; plus, it's spring, so the leaves make no damn sense. The techie talk about nanos, visions, and energy fields was a little mind-numbing, but the sweetness between Craig and Nithael made up for i [...]

    2. This wasn’t your typical sci-fi story. I just love the title. It is so appropriate. There were bits, when Niathal was talking in his ‘scientist’ speech that was hard to follow, but I feel it was meant to come across that way. You understood just enough to make it through. Is the romance fast? Yes. Very much so. But, the time frame wasn’t always in the front of my mind(like some of these instant-love type stories). Some of the confusing factors start to make more sense, as you continue to [...]

    3. Nithael finds himself naked and confused in the park where Craig goes running after serving as a military medic. Craig slowly comes to realize that Nithael is not from Earth, and has teleported from another dimension. Craig also has a secret of his own, limited clairvoyance that made him a highly effective combat medic and something of an outsider himself. As they story unfolds you find yourself liking both men with their strengths and weaknesses. And then as they start to fall for one another, [...]

    4. ‘Science and Fiction’ starts with a mystery – a young man appearing from nowhere under a pile of autumn leaves in the spring – and gets stranger from there. Craig, a former Marine finds him, rescues him, and thinks the visitor may need psychiatric help. Between the amnesia and technobabble Nithael lets loose once he is at Craig’s house, I was delightfully confused for quite a while. I began to make sense of the weirdness after a while, and eagerly followed the revelations as Craig and [...]

    5. This was a very cleverly written tale of a man named Nithael who came through a portal to our present Earth time from another dimension, only to land in sight of Craig, recently retired soldier. Craig has the gift of foresight which in a very complex, and beyond my understanding explanation, makes him the perfect compatible partner for Nithael. Needless to say, it has to be read to be appreciated, but the caliber of the writing, and the scientific complexity and vivid imagination that went into [...]

    6. This was a cute and quirky kind of read. Not a lot happens, but the suggestion of the parallel world is interesting, and the distractible scientist from there is kind of fun. I got frustrated with the constant terms of endearment used by Jake once they get closer; all the honeys and dears and loves really grated on my nerves.

    7. Really cute, sweet, and fun. The only issues I had were the instalove (but that could be slightly allowed for since it's a short) and the lack of a finally completely coherent working world model. I understand that at first it needed to be confusing, but it would have been nice to clear up a few more questions.

    8. This was a cute story. I found Nitheal so endearing and the world building, even though it was only shown and hinted at through Nitheal's words, really well done. Craig I didn't get as attached to but I enjoyed him none the less. I'd recommend this for anyone in the mood for light, sweet and funny.

    9. A lot of science/techno babble that a little frenetic but under that is a really cute story about two halves of a whole meeting and falling in love. I really like the MCs and Gramps. Cat is pretty great too. The plot is interesting if a little hard to follow, but that just could be me.

    10. 3.5 stars rounded upFun sci-fi short story of a retired marine who is 'gifted' with preminitions and a scientist from a parallel dimension whose teleport experiment brings the pair together. With added opportunistic cat.

    11. Review forthcoming - Life is consuming me at the moment. Will get this written as soon as I can. I hate that I don't have time right now, but I want to make this a good review

    12. I don't really like insta-love stories and unfortunately this does suffer from it, especially towards the end when it gets a bit too sweetly gag-enducing for me - BUT, I couldn't help but like it whilst still rolling my eyes at it! The idea for the story was pretty cool and I liked the characters, although its kind of across between sci-fi and pnr rather than "proper" sci-fi, as some of it could have been classed as magical/paranormal abilities, such as visions of the future etc.It got a little [...]

    13. 3,5*I have a hard time with the rating and the review because I found it sometimes really hard to follow due to the technical talk all the time. But maybe that's just due to sleep deprivation caused by two kids under 3. I especially liked how Nithael's insecurities were dealt with and that they weren't just poof gone only because Craig told him once he likes to spend time with him. Live long insecurities won't disappear just like that. I would have liked to learn how they built their live togeth [...]

    14. I enjoyed the characters, and their world and hope I get the chance to read the story again and/or to read more within the series. My Rating System:* couldn't finish, ** wouldn't recommend, *** would recommend, **** would read again, ***** have read again.

    15. This was so great. It was smart and funny at times. Perfect for me as I tend to like the guys who are quirky and cute but need someone special to understand them. I was sort of confused in the middle just a bit but I didn't care because I was really enjoying the story. These authors (this author) simply must write more stuff I will definitely read everything they have to offer.

    16. A complex and engaging story with a cute, easily distracted scientist from another dimension and a down-to-earth military medic. It has a touch of insta-love but not enough to irritate me. They were adorable together.

    17. I liked the concept and initial mystery around Craig meeting/discovering Nithael. I also enjoyed both MCs' personalities as well as Gramps and Cat. The story was dialogue and technobabble heavy which made it drag at times for me. But, the guys' relationship was sweet and the ending happy.

    18. The idea of a different world was great. I liked the descriptions and I enjoyed the pairing. But the instalove made things too over the top for me. Sadly parts were dragging without anything happening.

    19. Not badly written and fun in places, but the amount of sci-fi made-up research/science terms clogged my mind to the point where I had to make an effort to literally read between the lines to follow the actual story.

    20. The Science Fiction of Science and Fiction was a bit too detailed for me making the start of the story a bit of a hard slog but the relationship between the two characters was so sweet that it won me over.

    21. 4.5 stars. Nithael as a quirky scientist was highly entertaining. And Craig's confusion over him was adorable. A very enjoyable read. One of the best of the LL event.

    22. I enjoyed this story, but started skimming at the halfway point because it was too wordy and technical. When I got to the end though, I was sad it was over. It was very creative.

    23. [NOTE: I rate most writing event stories (free reads) 4 or 5 stars because of my appreciation of the author's participation and gift.]
