    1. Opening line of the book:Terrance Ramsey was married to an absolute bitch, and he couldn't have been happier about it.What a great line! I can't gush enough about this series, so I shall just say - give it a go you won't be disappointed.

    2. This is a great addition to the Elemental World. Set after the events of Building From Ashes, it's a brief look into the lives of Terry and Gemma. We first met Terry and Gemma in the Elemental Mysteries series. Terry is the leader of the London vampires, and Gemma is his fiancé, and ‘daughter’ of Carwyn. They are together for political reasons - their match being both convenient and powerful. But, behind the scenes, there is so much more to it than that. “Terrance Ramsay was the last man [...]

    3. I first started this series online when Hunter had started posting the first couple chapters to her blog. One problem. I hate to read on a computer. When it is on my nook color I can change the lighting and so forth. Not so with my computer. (If you know of a way a sista out and let me know). Anywho, I started it, but after having twitchy eye from too much computer exposure, I ended up quitting it. Thankfully, Hunter came to my rescue and sent me an epub for review. And for that I thank her prof [...]

    4. I only gave this 4 stars because I really would have liked to have had more. This is a novella however and not a stand alone novel. It is a part of the Elemental World series and gives us a more background on the character and characters of Terry and Gemma.Terry is a bit of con-man and rogue in his own way. He originally wanted to align with Gemma because of her connections and who her family was but as time went on he found himself wanting more. Gemma is the daughter of Carwyn ap Bryn and a for [...]

    5. 4.5 starsI had convinced myself that I just didn't like this series quite as much as the Elemental Mysteries until I remembered this story.I've said it before (concerning Hunter's Cambio Springs series), and I'll say it again: this woman has an amazing gift for writing compelling novellas. We met Gemma and Terrance in the second or third book of the Elemental Mysteries, and were it not for the few hints that Gemma was more affected by Terrance than she let on, I would have been disappointed by h [...]

    6. Re-read February 2018My original review only gave this short novella three stars. I'm upping it a star this go round. It was entertaining and had a sweet love story about a couple that were supporting characters for the Elemental Mystery series. Here they have the starring role and they don't disappoint. Well recommended. Original Review March 2014I really like this series. This novella was a short read but the characters were well written and the story fit perfectly into the world that Elizabet [...]

    7. The novella length Waterlocked revists Hunter's world of elemental vampires, matching Earth vampire 'child' of Carwyn, Gemma, with Water vampire head of London, Terry. This story is a bit steamier than the rest of the books in the series, has some good action, and offers just a bit of information about the series' arc's conflict.Even though Gemma and Terry are engaged and have known each other for a hundred years, Gemma is holding back and Terry is determined to give Gemma a push to win the eter [...]

    8. Mon avis en FrançaisMy English reviewLike for the original series, I always take a great pleasure in reading each new volume by Elizabeth Hunter. All the secondary characters are featured here and after Carwyn, we have now Gemma and Terrance. This is a fairly short story but still quite complete. So we meet this couple who is engaged by arrangement and while Terrance loves her madly since their first meeting, it is far from being the case for Gemma. But hey, it must be said that she never though [...]

    9. *4.5 star book and another Elizabeth Hunter book is added to my favorites shelf!*Another excellent book in the Elemental World series! The only complaint I have -- it's just too darn short! Typically, I do not give 5 star ratings to novellas because there usually just isn't time to establish characters, plot and make it meaningful for the reader. In this case, I rounded up because I already know the back story of the plot about the Elixir, have met or heard of many of the supporting characters, [...]

    10. After finishing Building from Ashes, book 1 in the Elemental World series, I couldn’t help myself but continue on with this novella – and am so happy that I did. I absolutely loved this story, in fact Gemma and Terry just became my favorite couple in the world of elemental vampires. I didn’t expect this at all, as I wasn’t too fond of Gemma from the original Elemental Mysteries books, and Terry did not have much of a presence, aside from a brief mention. But here, both of these character [...]

    11. Sweet and short. I always find it difficult to review novellas, because there is so little can say without going through the whole plot. I've always wondered about Terry and Gemma because they are such an interesting tumultuous couple who no surface don't have anything in common, However, Waterlocked explores their differences and the roots of their unwilling fascination with each other. It is especially difficult for Gemma. Terry is younger and pushier and hungrier for everything. He acts while [...]

    12. Once again Elizabeth Hunter has written a fantastic on the edge of seat book although being a novella it is still up to her standards of the other books. I love how Terry tricked Gemma into marriage and how Gemma seemed like a bitch but that is what Terry loves about her. In the end we find out where she is the way that she is and it does make sense. Terry Ramsey and how he met Gemma and that he is an absolute bruiser and cad. I love him especially the cockney accent. Elizabeth Hunter goes at th [...]

    13. This was my least favorite book out if Elemental Mysteries / Elemental World series. Somewhere around 70% into it I found it slightly exciting but other than that I didn't care for this book. I didn't think Gemma & Terry deserved their own book -- maybe later I'll figure out why it was so important to tell their story, but I think there are so many more intriguing characters I'd prefer to read about.

    14. The story of Terry and Gemma is, unfortunately, a short one. We get to see how they came together and it helps understand Gemma. I just wished we had learned more about Terry. That's why I prefer novels over novellas. Never the less, the story is, as always, well written.

    15. Elemental World #1.5 by Elizabeth Hunter was an excellent addition to her Elemental vampires world! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of her Elemental World, Elemental Mysteries, and herElemental Legacy series. And if you are not a fan yet, once you read them, you will be!This book draws into focus the relationship between Gemma Melcombe, earth vampire and oldest daughter of Carwyn ap Bryn, and Terrence (Terry) Ramsey, water vampire and current leader of London. Long time allie [...]

    17. Love and Adventure on the High SeasA 4.5 star read. We are given an insight to Carwyn's oldest child, Gemma and her new husband. Elizabeth Hunter has woven an interesting novella, that shows us how Gemma and Terry met, through their wedding day and ending with an interesting honeymoon. There is adventure on the ocean, followed by a twist near the end. Their relationship is built on respect and a good foundation of a good business arrangement. That being said, Terry loves Gemma vey much, and his [...]

    18. I read this series because it was recommended to me since I like The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. I do not like it quite as much as The All Souls Trilogy but it is good nonetheless. I like the librarian aspect and the historical research part but I also think the romance and story line in general is quite well done. It is a series that reads quickly while also keeping you engaged in the plot and characters.

    19. This was another of the Elemental Mysteries books that I didn't expect to like nearly as much as I did.The Gemma of the original series held no interest for me, but this Gemma is a different story. And learning more about Terry - and of course, the overall plot arc for this second series set in the Elemental world was pretty damn awesome too.Possibly not my favourite of the series, but a damn good read nontheless.

    20. This was a fun little story about Gemma and Terry from Elemental Mysteries. It was nice to see Gemma get an HEA after pining after Gio for so long. I'm looking forward to seeing what other problems crop up with ELIXIR now that the secret is out. Vampires on drugs ought to be an interesting story arc.

    21. What a satisfying story, I am happy to know Gemma and Terry better. Loved this storyThis was a very satisfying story, so happy to get to know Gemma and Terry better. Loved this story. Thank you

    22. I am still not enjoying the Elemental World series as much as the Elemental Mysteries series. Terry loves Gemma. Will Gemma love Terry? A morass of characters and a hazy global plot made this less than awesome for me.

    23. Thoroughly enjoyed this novellaElizabeth Hunter can do no wrong when it comes to her craft. It's taken me a while to get around to Gamma and Terrys story but it was worth it to dive in and read. Quite a few questions I had got answered. I loved this love story.

    24. Elizabeth can do no wrong . Every one of her books is a most satsifying read full of excellent world building and wonderful characters with great depth.

    25. So what’s this book about? This is a novella (approx 138 pages) about Gemma Melcombe and Terrance Ramsey. They are characters from the Elemental Mysteries quartet (A Hidden Fire #1, This Same Earth #2, The Force of Wind #3 and A Fall of Water #4). Elizabeth Hunter published this story 6 months after she had completed and published the Elemental Mysteries series and so I actually think this could be read after you’ve read them all too, in fact, I think this story could also work as a stand alo [...]

    26. Water locked the story of contrasting equalsMs. Gemma the high maintenance yet tomboy when business got real. And the street rough mr. Terrance Ramsey both at first seemed to be different people and yet they are each others equal although Gemma carried a grace to her styles of fashion; she did let her brute force show when need be. That's a lady for you. Terrance a force to be reckoned with that showed his true colors and didn't care if you were watching or not. I loved the hunter and huntress g [...]
