Originally posted at Butterfly-o-Meter Books on Nov 22 2011:Well, I read this when my Internet connection was whack and I didn’t have an exact recollection of which the next book in line for review was. I’m really glad I read it, and here’s why.The book starts up really promising; I love the writing, let it be said. It has a natural, pleasant flow to it, it reads very well and transmits emotion beautifully without becoming sappy. The plot is interesting, but honestly, I felt like this stor [...]

    2. I won't go into a lot of detail about the plot because others have already covered that. Here's what I liked about this book:The characters. Megan (for the most part) was believable. There were times when she said things (the book was written first-person, in her point of view) that sounded more like what an older adult would say, not an eighteen-year-old girl. Tony was great--very down-to-earth and very much the type of guy that any girl would be lucky to have as a friend or a love interest. Oh [...]

    3. I liked this book in the sense of the story idea and its potential however I found some hang-ups that prevented me from truly enjoying the book. I liked the story (without re-capping the story or spoiling any of the plot) where it was leading me and how it keep me wanting to know more. I couldn’t put the book down because I really wanted to know what happened next. However the details within the story were not consistent and because I pay attention to the details I kept getting pulled out of t [...]

    4. Book read and review done: ( Thank you for asking me to read your book, Amber)My Thoughts: (I gave the book 4 Stars)Haunt starts out where you meet a nice, simple girl from a small town in Texas. Her name is Megan and she has a passion for painting, hoping one day to become artist. Her best friend is a great guy named Tony who she has known most of her life. Megan is about to graduate high school soon and leave for a long road trip with Tony. One morning Megan wakes up late and in the rush of ge [...]

    5. Megan is only days away from graduating high school. She is cramming for finals, and desperately trying to get her head out of the clouds so that she can pass her senior year. She longs to be an artist, but being an only child of professional parents, her future plans are still up for discussion. Spending her spare time getting lost in her paintings, or hanging with her best friend Tony, she’s just your average teen girl, as she describes herself:I had never been very pretty. I was plain for a [...]

    6. I was very disappointed when I reached the end of this bookNOT because I didn't like the book but because I didn't want it to be over! I felt like Megan and Tony were friends of mine and was sad to see them go. Eighteen year old Megan is just weeks from her high school graduation but she would rather paint all night than study for her exams. Tony, her best friend since childhood, can only talk about the road trip the two of them have talked about taking for years. But those plans get put on hold [...]

    7. Megan’s biggest concerns in life are graduating high school and how to ignore the fact that her best friend, Tony, is in love with her. So, when the beautiful, mysterious Adam works his way into her life, he is a welcome distraction. And it takes no time at all for Megan to realize that she’s falling in love with him. But Adam has a secret so big, it may cost Megan her life.In Haunt, Amber Delaine brings the reader on Megan’s tumultuous journey through infatuation, obsession and love. Adam [...]

    8. Reading Haunt kept me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what was coming and I liked that Delaine keeps readers hooked by building suspense and mystery.I thought this was going to be a simple girl meets boy and boy turns out to be an evil jerk type of story but Haunt was far from simple. Everything that happens in the story is so much more than a typical teen romance. Adam took me by surprise and just, wow. What is he? He is such a mystery and I'm still not sure what to think about him. The fa [...]

    9. Haunt is a thrilling romance you won’t want to put down. The writing is vivid, compelling and funny in all the right places. The characters themselves are all people you want to get to know, although with you’d end up wishing you hadn’t. Megan quickly seems like an old friend and it’s easy to sympathise with her as she struggles to understand the mystery of the alluring new boy in her life – and avoid losing her best friend in the process. A fast paced, fantastic read. Hope to read mor [...]

    10. This was a great fast read that I couldnt put down!! While I do agree with the other reviewer that stated the details within the story were not consistentI was able to look past it and enjoy the book. I wasnt completely sure about the ending (regarding Adam) but Im hoping that was left open as a sequel. I would have loved to have read more about Adam. Still this was a great book kept me on my toes and i can't wait to see what else this author has up her sleeves!

    11. Any time I start to read something that could be called "teen fiction" I get a little nervous as to the quality of writing. Thankfully I needn't have worried about this one. The story was interesting and the writing intriguing. Every time I started to read, something interesting would happen and I'd get annoyed with any interruption. As it turned out I stayed up late with my booklight in order to find out just how the story would end.

    12. Ummm I won a copy of this book in a giveaway Dialogue needs work. Feels stilted and forced. Megan's inner voice doesn't sound like that of a teenager. And the writing is more expository than illustrative It's more of 'telling' than 'showing'. This book did not draw me in at all.

    13. Wow This book just left me speachless. I mean I just couldn't believe the turn of events and how the author just kept me n my toes the whole way!!! I almost started crying when I got to the end of the book. But I'm really hoping somehow the author turns this book into a series, it was just so good. Great job Amber, Awsome book! Keep writing !!!
