    1. Tasmina Perry has done it again! This is a huge novel, with almost 700 pages, but oh my goodness, they really fly by! The reader enters the murky world of media law via associate lawyer Anna Kennedy. Anna loves her work, she works for the best firm of lawyers, she mingles with rock stars, Hollywood actors and goes to the best parties. She is almost at the top of her career, with a partnership in sight, until she fails to get a last minute injunction and her client's dirty secrets is plastered al [...]

    2. This book have been a disappointment for me. I had expected more from this author and after reading the synnopsis , I thought it would be a page turner. There were too many sub plots involvedMatt and his wife, Anna and her sister, Anna and Sam, Anna and matt, Helen , Sid , Jessica and Samr a time I was lost at what the book is getting at.It didn't help when the author decided to use pet name here. Andrew became Andy. At place s he was referred to as Andrew and at places he was referred to as And [...]

    3. You need to have been living in a cave for the past few years to have not seen and heard all the high-profile scandals that have been in the press; the Ryan Giggs scandal, just to name one. With this in mind, Tasmina’s Private Lives couldn’t have arrived at a better time! Celebrity affairs, high-profile cover up’s and the last minute rush to obtain injunctions against the press – This book has it all!For those of of you who don’t know, before Tasmina was an author, she had a career in [...]

    4. I have just finished reading my first ever Tasmina Perry book. I have often seen her books in the book store, they all have stunning, eye catching covers, but the size of the books have always put me off!! I was sent a copy of Tasmina Perry’s recent novel Private Lives by Headline Reviews to read and review and when this huge hard back arrived on my door step ( wouldn’t fit in the letter box!) it was my time to delve into the world of Tasmina Perry.PlotAnna Kennedy loves her career. A young [...]

    5. Oh my goodness what an amazing book. Loved it so much. When the storyline starts off with a murder you know you're not going to be able to put the book down. Very mysterious and kept you guessing all through the book. Liked reading the book from a lawyers point of view too. Definitely one of my favourite authors.

    6. I wasn't a huge fan, but I've read much worse. The characters are all very frivolous and it seemed that everybody was having an affair. There was no sustenance to any of the cast which made it difficult to engage with their journeys, and as such, I found myself kind of bored by the never ending dramas that were unfolding. I think the pace of the book needed work and I disliked the ending because it felt thrown together in order to create the 'perfect happy ending' people expect from a chick lit [...]

    7. I've read a couple of other books by Tasmina Perry and enjoyed them so when I saw this in the Library I picked it up. I wouldn't normally read something like this as glamour and celebrity stories are not my thing, I find them incredibly shallow, however it was better than expected and I reluctantly would like to know more about the characters. Do Sam and Jess live happily ever after? Probably not! Will Anna find an meaningful relationship? What about her selfish sister will her marriage survive? [...]

    8. Very engrossing, lots of twists and turns and complex, well researched stories. Kept me guessing right up to the end. Loved it!

    9. Another reviewer already said it best. In case it doesn't come up in your scrolling: "This book was such a bore and dragged on and on and on. "I wish there was a separate portion to review the narrator, though. She was great. Her accents were a bit muddled but her voices were excellent. I never got the characters confused (even when they were too dull or cheezy to even care if they were someone new) and she really embodied a lot of the emotional ups and downs.

    10. I read my first Tasmina Perry novel earlier this year when I picked up Daddy’s Girls. It was an enjoyable enough novel, although I felt at 600 pages it was rather hefty and a bit overly-long. So you can imagine my shock when I received a proof copy of Tasmina’s new book Private Lives that it came in at just under 700 pages. I mean, that is mega. That’s the length of a Jilly Cooper novel. By accident or design, I generally don’t read novels over 500 pages, but the plot of Private Lives in [...]

    11. Reviewed for Book Hugger through the Real Readers Programme who send me an uncorrected manuscript prove copy. The book starts with the murder of a young girl.Six months later Anna Kennedy, a young associate with a media law firm, finds herself in deep trouble when a story she was supposed to supress is splashed all over the front pages despite her best efforts. She knows somebody must have leaked the story, but has no idea who or why. Now she has been sacked by Sam Charles, the Holywood superstar [...]

    12. A young lawyer at a firm specialising in taking out injunctions for celebrities in order to protect them from their own stupidity finds herself involved in the lives of some of her clients and in trying to uncover a murder conspiracy. On her way from initial failure to professional success she encounters film stars, politicians, the international party set and some people she’d rather not know, who could put her life in danger.I’d never read any of Tasmina Perry’s books prior to this one a [...]

    13. Tasmina Perry is an author whose books I immensley look forward to each year. Her books are always pretty long and substantial and this one is no different. I received a paperback version (as it was a proof copy) and it came in at just under 700 pages. The cover as always is particularly eye catching and the synopsis was one that sounded juicy and full of glamour. The main characters are plentiful, as is the story itself. We meet the main female character, Anna Kennedy. She is a lawyer working fo [...]

    14. Do you know how some books show you sides of yourself you don’t normally see or use really, but then a book comes a long, and during the last pages you realize that you’re a really, really petty person?Yeah, me too.AnywayThis is a book about Anna, a young lawyer, who somehow ends up in a murder mystery It sounds as chick-lit-crime-mystery cliché as it gets, right? It really isn’t though well Actually, maybe it is, but this is not my usual genre, so I honestly wouldn’t even know if it wa [...]

    15. Finally finished reading my first Tasmina Perry novel, and boy am I hooked. She knows exactly what the current readers want in a novel in today modern society and bases her book around that.I fell in love with the characters. Anna was such a likeable character and I was rooting for her throughout the book, and Matthew was charming in all the right ways. There are quite a few reasons why I only marked this book as 4 stars instead of 5. It was way too long, over 700 pages I think in exact. They wer [...]

    16. I really enjoyed this one.I actually read a lot of this type of "chick lit" type book but this was a first for me for Tasmina Perry but I am glad I did get this of Vine.I really loved the characters of Anna, Matt and Sam.I really felt for Anna for certain situations and how everyone kept treating her like she was being childish when she was the one who was wronged.I really liked Matt as well who stuck with his principles and didnt let anyone change him. Both was well written and even though it wa [...]

    17. Anna Kennedy loves her career. A young associate with a top media law firm, she's the lawyer to the stars, hiding their sins from the hungry media. When Anna fails to prevent a damaging story being printed about heart-throb movie star Sam Charles she finds herself fighting to save not only his reputation, but also her own. But Anna is about to uncover a scandal more explosive than even Sam's infidelities. A party girl is already dead and those responsible are prepared to silence anyone who stand [...]

    18. I read all the author's books; Daddy's Girls, Gold Diggers, Guilty Pleasures, Original Sins, and Kiss Heaven Goodbye. To be truthfully, i have been waiting for this book for awhile and was very happy to know that i can buy it from Booksonboard. The book begin with the story of Anna joining the prestigious law firm, Donovan Pierce and was assigned to Sam Charles' case. She failed to have the injunction to stop the media from exposing the adultery committed by Sam and this has hit her hard. She de [...]

    19. Set in the glitzy and glamorous world of film, lawyers and the media, this is a chick-lit style thriller involving dirty dealings, skulduggery and murder. It's a fast paced read and I particularly liked the characters of Anna and Matthew, two of the lawyers, and enjoyed their roles and storylines. However, I thought there were far too many other characters who were far too perfect. I also thought it was far too long with too many plot lines. It started off well and then got quite confusing with a [...]

    20. The reader enters the murky world of media law via associate lawyer Anna Kennedy. Anna loves her work she works for the best firm of lawyers she mingles with rock stars Hollywood actors and goes to the best parties. She is almost at the top of her career with a partnership in sight until she fails to get a last minute injunction and her client's dirty secrets is plastered all over the papers.Anna finds herself mixed up in a world she didn't imagine big money, risk takers and even murder.Yes I lo [...]

    21. I have to admit that when I seen this book in the shop I wasn't drawn to it, I think the cover really does no justice to the book. Regardless I read the back of it and decided that it would be worth a try.I'm not going to outline the story because some have already done it so I will get straight to the story, I loved this book. Right from page 1 this book had my attention, and it is by no means a small book, but somehow I just couldn't put it down. Tasmina Perry seems to have a way of just sucki [...]

    22. Just imagine, a summer’s day, a cool white wine and this huge blockbuster of a novel taking you on a roller coaster of a journey through the lives of the rich and famous. Part murder / mystery, and part celebrity gossip, this novel just oozes appeal, and opens a fascinating dialogue between the bored rich, and the undeniably famous, and the lawyers who attempt to defend them from public censure. From the super famous who get down and dirty, to the heartbreak of a family caught up in the murder [...]

    23. Most people who are fans of Ms Perry seem to have rated this book quite highly. For me, I was given this book as a gift and it is not the typical thing I would have read which makes reviewing this book difficult - was it bad? No. It just wasn't my thing.I much prefer paranormal (as AWAY from real life as possible). I find it hard to get interested in a story about Hollywood lawyers defending Hollywood actors from scandal. The Paris Hilton's of the world interest me less than grass growing. Yes, [...]

    24. I was asked to review this book by Book Huggers Real Readers it is outside of the genre I usually read but I approached it with an open mind. The story of a young and ambitious lawyer and her struggles to make her mark in the Entertainment field she is approached for help in solving the death of a goodtime girl.Having first refused she later changes her mind and is drawn into a world of deception and lies, her life in danger but she fights her way through to end up victorious in both love and work [...]

    25. It's an ok book. I had to give it four stars because I had given three stars to worse books. For me it felt too slow paced and not what you would call gripping.I have a problem with Anna character. There are so many books about this lonely honest lawyer girl called Anna, Hanna, Sue or other soft name that no matter how often you try to tell us that Anna is "shrewd" and "ambitious" and whatever else - it's not believable. It's not believable because this Anna is such a stock character -she's soft [...]

    26. Ah, Tasmina Perry, yet again you had me sucked in from Page One and I couldn't put this book down, so much so, that I read this book in a day.Anna - a media law associate finds herself mixed up in a world of big money, murder and lust after she fails to secure an injunction for a high profile client and his dirty little secrets are plastered all over the news.Left me on sitting on the edge of my seat from the moment that I started reading Private Lives and like always, I hated when the novel end [...]

    27. Private lives is very well written. The only problem i felt with the story is that the author is very ambitious To put it simply, its like Game of thrones ! Many character points and each character having its own story. Now many may not agree to such a comparison. But the point is that unlike GOT, there is no big twists in the story. But to be just Its vivid, comprehensive on celeb lives and a good page turner This a book that you will read over the week & not in a weekend. Highly recommende [...]

    28. This book was a Christmas present and once I started it I didn't put it down till it was finished - because I was afraid that if I did, I wouldn't pick it up again.None of the characters were particularly memorable and the few interesting sounding plot twist that there were, didn't really go anywhere To be fair, not my typical read. I like books that are fairly far removed from the real world, books about everyday things seem a little pointless - I live everyday, why would I want to read about i [...]

    29. Absolute drivel. There were moments when I thought it would pick up but it only plummeted, hence why it's taken me so long to finish it. I just couldn't be motivated to read it. Anna, Matt and Helen were the only decent characters and even they could be wishy washy at times. Certain plot lines didn't get the follow up I wanted whilst others dragged on far too long. The ending was particularly flat as well. Safe to say I won't be reading another of her books.
