    1. I had insomnia last night and this was the book I chose to read to pass the time. I can't say I stayed awake because the story was so riveting I couldn't stop, but it was good enough.Isabelle "Izzy" Ballantine has moved from Savannah, GA to Coconut Bay, FL to get a reprieve from her overprotective, meddling father and she's quite happy working as a bartender and living on her own. Sure, money is tight now and then, but going back home to live under her wealthy father's shadow isn't an option tha [...]

    2. I picked up this read when I couldn't decide on anything else, so I went back to the beginning of my short list and choose this one. I had it marked TBR since August 2012 and even already had it loaded on my kindle. I kinda feel bad it sat there waiting for so long, even though I have close to 2000 others in that same situation, but this is the exact kind of story that I love. Izzy is mostly making a point. Her father and her have been together her entire life, due to her mother dying at birth. [...]

    3. Full review available on The Romanceaholic.Ahh there’s not much more that I like in a contemporary romance than a hidden agenda that initially brings the hero and heroine together. It always ends up biting them in the behind, which is so deliciously angsty that I simply can’t resist.Overall, however, while I enjoyed this read, I wasn’t blown away by it. The drama of the Big Reveal almost seemed a bit extraneous after all of the excitement caused by the stalker, and Izzy and Adam’s relati [...]

    4. This was okay. I liked the first 40 percent, but then lost interest. I got really bored with the time we spent with the police figuring out the mystery and the time we spent with the baddie. The ending was a little lacking too.

    5. Isabelle “Izzy” Ballantine has moved to Coconut Bay, Florida so she can live her own life. She is tired of her very wealthy father interfering in every aspect of her life. Bartending is not her dream job, but for now she is happy, and independent – or so she thinks.Unknown to Izzy, her father has hired ex-marine Adam Marcellus to not only keep an eye on Izzy’s safety, but to also convince her to move back to her hometown of Savannah, Georgia. If Adam is successful, Izzy’s father has ag [...]

    6. This book was provided to me by netgalley and my first read by this author. After fleeing Savannah to escape her rich controlling father, Izzy gets a job as a bartender in a small coastal town of Florida. Shortly after Izzy is hired, tall, sexy Adam is hired for backup help at the same bar. Unbeknownst to Izzy, Adam was really hired by her powerful father to not only keep a watchful eye on her, but also try and convince her to come back to Savannah. Adam and his younger brother own a security co [...]

    7. I loved this book! Izzy moved to a small town to get away from her over protective, over bearing father. She enjoyed working with Adam. She found out Adam would be moving in two short weeks, and made the decision to make the best of the two weeks. Adam worked for a security company. He was hired by Izzy’s dad to keep an eye on her, and try to convince her to move back home to Savannah. When he took the job he pictured her to be just another wealthy snob. He was so wrong. The more time he spent [...]

    8. Another great read by Katie Reus. Her writing is so smooth and she always delivers a great read. Keep 'em coming, Katie!

    9. Awesome read## Oh how I really loved this book. The hero and heroine were both marvelous characters. There was romance with a little suspense thrown in for good measure. I loved how the conflict played out and how it was resolved. Highly recommended!

    10. 3.5 ish stars ? I will just give highlights. He couldn’t believe they’d just had sex. No, made love. What they’d just shared was more than sex. And since when had he started thinking of sex in those terms?“What exactly do you want from me?” “I think that much should be obvious.” His voice was dry. She nudged him with her elbow. “I’m serious. I know we just started…this.” She spread out her hands in a helpless gesture. “Whatever this is. I guess I want to know what you want [...]

    11. Isabelle Ballantine has been fighting for independence since she was old enough to walk. Now that she's finally out from under her father's shadow, she won't let anyone stand in her way. It's tough living on her own, working in a bar and keeping her true identity a secret, but things start to look up when a sexy new stranger walks into her life. After working side by side for weeks, Izzy can't figure out why he won't make a move. To cinch the deal of a lifetime, Adam Marcellus agrees to help Izz [...]

    12. One of the toughest things about the romantic suspense genre is getting the balance right between the amount of suspense and the amount of romance. I really enjoy this genre of books, but if the balance is off between these two elements, the book will inevitably fall flat for me, and this is the case with ‘Dangerous Secrets’.Isabelle has grown up in a privileged household, always wondering if people are friendly to her because of who she is or what she is—a Ballantine. Her father has alway [...]

    13. Neither Isabelle (Izzy) Ballantine nor Adam Marcellus seem to have the ability to trust. Traumatic experiences in both their development years left them with wounds that never quite healed—wounds received from being innocently trustful. Izzy, a college-educated, rich girl that “kicked over the traces” because of an overprotective father, makes her own way by tending bar in Mad Dog’s Bar and Grille. Adam, who survived the means streets of New Orleans, eight years in the Marines, and a few [...]

    14. Let's see overbearing father, independent daughter, sexy stranger oh yeah, this has the makings for a hot romance!Reading this book was a refreshing treat for me. The elements that Katie Reus weaves into her plot were everything I crave in a good book. Suspense, danger, drama, conflict, secrets, a hot, protective man, a fierce, independent woman, and enough sparks to burn it all down!Izzy was a great heroine. She's a strong woman with a good heart and enough brains to stand on her own. She doesn [...]

    15. Dangerous Secrets by Katie ReusCarina, 2011153 pagesRomantic Suspense4/5 starsSource: Received a free copy via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.I have really been enjoying Carina's romantic novellas and I think this was my favorite so far. I don't read too much suspense, usually preferring a nice cozy, but I enjoyed this a lot.The story kicks off right away with Izzy, a bartender escaping from her rich overprotective father, and Adam, secretly hired by Izzy's father to protect her and [...]

    16. This was is another good romantic suspense book by Katie Reus. After reading six books by Katie one thing I have noticed is how diverse Katie is in her stories. Many times when you read several books by the same author you tend to find the same plot ideas, but Katie does a great job of writing very different stories. In this story we find Adam, who was hired by Izzy’s father to watch out for her without her knowing. He was also supposed to get her to move back home. In return, Adam’s securit [...]

    17. Plot and characterisation straight from the shelves of the DIY write-by-numbers superstore, but I enjoyed Dangerous Secrets more than the publisher's blurb led me to expect.Billionaire's daughter flees her over-protective father to work in a bar in small-town Florida. Father sends an ex-USMC, ex-special ops bodyguard to make sure his daughter doesn't get into trouble. Right on schedule, she does get into trouble when a serial rapist starts prowling the town, and right on schedule she finds herse [...]

    18. Dangerous Secrets by Katie Reus, is the first book I have read of Ms. Reus. I found it to be enjoyable, suspenseful and quite erotic also. HoweverWhile I very much enjoyed the chemistry between Izzy (Isabelle Ballentine) and Adam Marcellus; as it rang very trueI found myself at times having trouble staying with story line. The main story line is how Adam, an Ex-Marine turned Security Specialist is in Coconut Bay to protect Izzy. This is without Izzy's knowledge and done under the auspices of her [...]

    19. Published at: Over a Cuppa TeaDate published: 26th Jan 2011Review link: cleffairy.wordpress/2011/01/25/dangerous-secrets/I'm not really a fan of thriller and suspense, but I was rather intrigued when I spotted this book available for request in Netgalley. So I requested it and as I flipped through the book, I found that thrillers and not so bad after all, especially when romance is involved in it.Dangerous Secrets is a fast-paced book and gets my adrenaline all pumped up. This book is a perfect [...]

    20. I think this is my favourite by this author that I've read so far. I would have given it 4 stars, but the ending just sucked all the joy out of the book. The heroine, Izzy, who was a great female lead with intelligence, and strength in character, all of a sudden becomes a vindictive immature shrew. I understand why the author thinks she needed to get her panties in a bunch, but it just didn't seem rational to me because it was so over the top.But anyways, it's a fun read with good suspense and p [...]

    21. Dangerous Secrets is a fast paced and action packed romance. Izzy and Adams offer a lustful attraction that will capture readers with its intensity and emotion. While this particular novel was a little more exotic than what I typically read; it's was still a great story. Most times a novel with sex has a hardtime continuing a realistic and intruguing storyline, but Katie Reus proves to be talented in including both without destroying a great story. At just 157 pages this novel was very short, bu [...]

    22. This book was alright. It was a quick read and had a pretty good storyline. I enjoyed Izzy and Adam's chemistry and, even though they moved very fast, it was mostly believable. I feel a little disappointed by the book because I felt it could have had so much potential, and it just didn't seem to live up to it. I'm not sure I can put my finger on it, but I felt there could have been more action involved with her stalker, and maybe a little less of the erotic side of things. I just feel a littleor [...]

    23. For anyone who loves: good suspense, romance, intrigue Why did I read it? Needed a bit of mysteryMy Rambles:The more I read and review, the more I am starting to learn my likes and dislikes. Unfortunately, secrets is one of my dislikes. I hate lies and deceit. Now, pushing that aside? This was a good read. The suspense was good, the characters were fun and real. I'm definitely going to look for more Katie Reus.Overall: 3/5

    24. This was a decent read, not a favorite by any means but it did the trick. I feel like it spent so much time building up the anticipation of the attack that when the attack happened it fell short. It was too quick and almost easy. I like to be on the edge of my seat waiting for what's to happen next and I was more like "eh, that's all?"

    25. Dangerous secrets A+++Adam and Izzy are a wonderful couple. I love this story, it is romantic, dangerous and sweet. Adam and Izzy's characters flow together and the storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat. I love Katie Reus books and look forward to many, many more

    26. Netgalley let me read let me read this book and I sadly gave them a 3 sentence review. Unfortunately those three sentences will never explain how enticing this book was to me. But since time is not on my side, I once again leave with only three sentences lol.

    27. I really liked Adam. I thought he was sexy and protective. Izzy was a balance of strength and vulnerability. The attraction between them was hot. They both had issues and lingering wounds, and they both made mistakes in their relationship, but they got through it nicely. The ending was cute.

    28. This was ok. My first read by Katie Reus. It was a little predictable, but I don't mind that sometimes. I wonder if the physical reaction to one another that Isabelle and Adam had really exists.

    29. It was a good read but nothing that kept me completely riveted to it. Definitely enjoyable enough to have me check out more from the author.
